TriEye The View Polarized Sunglasses with Dual Mirrors

Price range: $139.00 through $169.00

The View Polarized eliminates glare from water, wet roads, and reflective surfaces. Especially good for waterside routes or riding just after rain.

The View is a pair of sport sunglasses with  rear-view mirrors integrated into the lens — a single-shield wraparound with a Norwegian-designed safety feature that lets you see the road behind you without turning your head. Integrated seamlessly into the frame, the rear-view mirrors become part of how you move not something you think about. Easily adjustable, they provide a clear view to bow while maintaining your rowing focus in the stern. Mirrors on both sides allow a wider field of view than traditional mirrors. The mirror is part of the frame. Always present. Never in the way. Comfortable and lightweight frames.

Choose your model. The View Sharp is the new standard.

  • The View Sharp — comes with the improved mirror built in: a redesigned housing that holds a larger mirror closer to your eye, for a clearer view behind you, right out of the box. Medium (145 mm) only.
  • The View (Original) — previous, proven, and still a great pair of glasses. Ships with our original mirror; add the Larger Mirror upgrade if you want a view close to Sharp’s. Available in Medium (145 mm) or Small (140 mm), while stock lasts.

All glasses include a protective case, microfiber pouch and microfiber cloth as well as the user manual.

Other Trieye lens options are available:

  • Photochromic lenses change color with light conditions – while clear in the dark, they darken in sunlight.
  • Reflective lenses are designed with a mirrored coating for strong sun. Cuts light intensity on bright summer rows and looks the part while doing it.

Description

  • Mirrors are easily adjustable even while on the water. The mirrors are set low enough in the glasses that they do not block your view forward.
  • Frames are made from TR90, a thermoplastic material that is incredibly durable, flexible, and lightweight. They are comfortable to wear because they bend under pressure and contour to your face comfortably.
  • Lenses are durable, lightweight and scratch-resistant Polycarbonate. All TriEye glasses have fully UV protected lenses (UV400) offering 100% protection against both UV-A and UV-B rays.

Polarized or Photochromic or Reflective?

Polarized lenses contain a built-in filter that blocks horizontally reflected light – the glare that bounces off water and wet roads. The result is dramatically reduced reflection and a sharper view of the row ahead. The tint level stays fixed. What changes is the quality of what you see through it. Best for: Bright, sunny days with consistent light; Rowers and riders who stick to daytime, fair-weather rides; Road cycling where asphalt glare is an issue; Coastal or lakeside routes with reflective water.

Photochromic lenses react to UV light. In bright sun they darken automatically. Move into shade or a tunnel and they lighten back up within seconds. One lens adapts to the conditions of your ride rather than you adapting around it. Our Full Spectrum lens performs at category 3 in real-world rowing and riding- clear at dawn, dark at high noon, one lens for all of it. It’s built around a premium Japanese photochromic compound, which is why transitions are faster and more consistent than standard photochromics. Lab-tested all the way up to category 4 – the darkest tint rating available. Best for: Variable conditions on cloudy mornings turning sunny; Dawn or dusk rowing with rapidly changing light; Rowers who want one pair for every condition.

Reflective lenses are bright-day lenses with a mirror coating that bounces light. Strong sun protection plus a stylistic statement. Same UV400 protection as Polarized but without the glare-cutting effect.

Polarized gives you clarity in the conditions you choose. Photochromic gives you confidence in the conditions you don’t.
